The Cottage City Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to establish an eligibility list for Police Officer and Code Enforcement Officer as indicated below: TOWN POLICE OFFICER Performs patrol functions in assigned areas within the town limits, responds to calls for routine and emergency service, arrests violators of laws, completes reports, enforces the laws of the State of Maryland and Cottage City Ordinances, testifies in court, and performs routine and additional duties as assigned for the purpose of maintaining order and protecting life and property. Starting Salary Full Time: $39, 936 plus a generous benefits package. TOWN CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER Performs patrol functions within the town limits in order to detect and identify violations, investigate complaints concerning potential violations, takes the appropriate corrective action in order to obtain compliance of Town Ordinances, educates the community on code requirements and maintaining the required records, logs and files. Desirable candidate must be computer literate, able to do Internet based research. Experience working with the public, excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision. Experience in related fields and the ability to speak Spanish a plus.
